And One More Thing... "Incubation Period"

Medicinenet.com defines an incubation period as 1) in medicine, the time from the moment of exposure to an infectious agent until signs and symptoms of the disease appear; or 2) in biology, the incubation period is the time needed for any particular process of development to take place. With that in mind, welcome to my film, "Incubation Period."

Awhile back, my friends over at Wages of Cine had a yearlong project going. It was called "Arte Factum," and it involved 12 writer/directors producing a short film. One new "Arte Factum" film appeared each month throughout 2016. The only thing these films had to have in common was the inclusion of an artifact, known as the arte factum.

I hit upon an idea that I thought would be fun, and decided to make it as an unofficial "Arte Factum" film. I assembled a crew, who brought my idea to life. It turned out even better than I could have imagined. We finished the film near the end of December 2016, and it ran in the Poison Peach Film Festival in January of 2017.

After its premiere, I entered it into a number of other festivals, and it was picked up for two other festivals: Mad Monster Party in Rock Hill, South Carolina; and the Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest in Charleston, South Carolina. It was also awarded a Spotlight Silver Film Award by the Spotlight Horror Film Awards. During much of this time it was not available to the public, but on September 1, 2017, it went public.

This film would not have happened if not for Shatareia Stokes, Nick Laws, Emily Schreiber, Brandon Woodward, Terrence Williams, Shere Ladd, Blake Chambers, April Clark, Cameron Sizemore, Jakin Shaw, Susan Willis, and Susan Poe. The music was written and recorded by Josh Woodward, Collin Scudder, Devon Norris, and assorted sound effects from Freesound.org. Locations were provided by Krys and Jess Bailey, and Brandon Pickrell.

I hope you enjoy it.

CAUTION: This film is recommended for mature audiences due to the graphic nature of the special effects. No actors were harmed in the making of this film, though two arte facta paid the ultimate price.
